Even if this is a one day tour, you will visit Poas Volcano, one of the most visited parks of Costa Rica and you will be able to visit 5 spectacular waterfalls in the middle of the rain forest.

Poas Volcano National Park was created on January 25, 1971. It is one of the most amazing volcanoes of the country with extraordinary scenic beauty. At the top of the volcano there are two craters. The main one has a circular lagoon in the bottom, with hot water, steam and sulfuric smells. Its coloration changes according to the level of the volcanic activity, ranging from light blue, to green, to gray. The second crater is know as Botos Lagoon, completely filled with rain water, and has cold temperature and completely surrounded by a thick forest. In the trail to this Lagoon you will find different type of flora and fauna.

La Paz Waterfall Gardens is a private owned park and reserve. Here you will be able to walk in trails for 3.5 Km, where you will be able to enjoy the different attractions, like a butterfly observatory, where you can see 20 different species. A hummingbird garden allows you to awe with 24 different species of this tiny type of bird, that you find only in America's continent and is one of the smallest birds in the world, with impressive colors. After this you will find a Snake Exhibition with the most popular snakes of the country, both venomous and non-venomous. Learn about the flowers of the season in the Orchids Garden with many different species. The Typical House will show you the way the people in Costa Rica used to live in the 17 and 18 century. Continuing you will find the Frogs exhibit, with both diurnal and nocturnal species, like the famous Red Poisonous Dart Arrow Frog. Then you take a short hike where you can see 5 different waterfalls, from different perspectives and levels, from a trail that goes just besides La Paz River.
